Scary Color Contacts : See How Spooky You Can Be

Most people have had experience with colored contacts when they bought some lenses and discovered that they had some slight tinting to allow them to be seen more easily when they are floating in contact lens solution. Some people have gone a step further, and even requested a slightly stronger coloring in their contacts to alter their natural eye color for purposes of style and fashion. But a few brave souls have actually taken their color contacts to the extreme and tried non-prescription scary color contacts as part of their favorite costume. If you'd like to try them for yourself, there are plenty of styles and choices to choose from.

Zombie Contact Lenses

Some people use the name "Zombie Contact Lens" to refer to a lot of different non-prescription scary contact lenses, but a true zombie lens will have certain characteristics. The whole point of zombie contact lenses is to make you look like a walking dead person (a zombie), for Halloween or other scary events. This is accomplished by creating an effect where almost all of your eye is white (sometimes with some sickly looking light-colored green tint mixed in), with your pupil (the black part of your eye) looking like a tiny black dot in the middle of your eye. These non- prescription lenses will give your friends the creepy impression that you're dead, as you stare at them with a black, lifeless expression.

Pitch Black Mirrored Contact Lenses

Another really freaky costume effect, that will give everybody goose bumps up and down their spine, is created with pitch black mirrored contact lenses. With these lenses, your entire eye looks black. This is because these lenses are actually little one-way mirrors. You can see out, but others can't see in. It kind of looks like the eyes of an alligator, if you've ever studied one closely. People are afraid to look you in the eye, because your solid-black eyes give them the impression of staring into an empty soul or bottomless pit. These non-prescription lenses are really cool, if you want to frighten your friends at the next Halloween party.

Cat Eye Contact Lenses

Cat Eye contact lenses usually have a colored part in the middle that's in the shape of a pear-shaped diamond (just like a cat's eyes), and are usually shaded with reflective colors, to give the same effect that a cat's eyes give when you see them glowing in the dark at night. When you wear these, your party guests will take a few steps backwards as you approach them because your eyes will make them feel like some kind of alien or demon has possessed your body.

Red Spiral Contact Lenses

These lenses are so crazy, they usually make people laugh. At first, if you don't say anything, their breath is taken away when they make eye contact with you. Then, when they realize they are just contact lenses that are part of your costume, they usually can't stop laughing. It's just so cool to see somebody with bright red spirals running around their eyeballs. You can really have some creative fun, too, if you practice slowly rolling your eyeballs, blinking, or fluttering your eyelids. Reactions will vary from "Oh, wow!" to "Oh, man, that's gross!". One thing is for sure - you'll definitely get a reaction from everybody.

If this has got you excited, you're probably the type of person that would have a blast scaring everybody with scary color contacts. Go ahead and buy some. You won't believe how much fun you can have, especially if you practice facial expressions and eye movements to get the most effect. Your scary color contacts will take your usual costume to a new level. Halloween may never be the same again.
